General Terms and Conditions
1. Scope of application
These general terms and conditions apply to all business relationships between Doppeltext and consumers. A consumer means every natural person who enters into a legal transaction for a purpose that is outside his trade, business or profession.
Doppeltext offers bilingual ebooks. The books are available in multiple formats and can be read on tablets, smartphones, e-readers and PCs.
In our browser reading app and in iBooks, when you click on a text fragment, the literary translation is displayed directly above the text. On the Kindle and other e-readers, click on the text to switch between the dual language version and the original.
With your first purchase, a customer account is created. In order to download your books or read them in a browser you must log in with your e-mail address and password. This requires an active internet connection.

4. Offer and conclusion of contract
The description of our products in the online shop does not constitute a legally binding offer, but rather an invitation to place an order. Errors and omissions excepted.
By clicking the “Buy now” button you place a binding order of the ebooks listed on the order page. The contract of purchase is concluded upon receipt of our confirmation e-mail immediately after we receive your order.
5. Rights of use
Doppeltext grants the customer a non-exclusive, non-sublicensable, perpetual right to use the acquired ebooks. Distributing the ebooks or making the ebooks publicly available is prohibited. The ebooks contain no DRM (digital rights management) restrictions, but are personalized in a visible and invisible manner.
6. Prices and payment
All prices shown are final. For customers within the European Community, the prices include German VAT. Customers from outside the European Community are responsible for payment of all potential duty fees and taxes of their country of origin. We accept payments via PayPal only.
According to section 312d of the German Civil Code, the right of revocation does not apply to digital goods such as ebooks or software. Before buying, please open one of our free bilingual book excerpts on your reading device to make sure it works to your satisfaction.
8. Language of the Contract
The language of the contract shall be German or English. In case of doubt, the German wording shall prevail.
When you click on a book title you will be taken to the order page. The books can only be ordered individually.
On the order page, please enter your name and e-mail address. Your personal data will be transmitted in SSL-encrypted form. By clicking the “Buy now!” button you are placing a binding order with Doppeltext.
You will be forwarded to the PayPal website to perform the payment. If you do not have a PayPal account, you can pay with a credit or debit card using PayPal’s guest checkout service. PayPal may limit the number of times a credit card can be used before requiring you to create a PayPal account.
Upon successful payment you will be automatically brought back to doppeltext.com. You can start reading immediately after choosing a password for your Doppeltext account.
Wording of the contract
We will not save the wording of the contract. The order information and the terms and conditions will be sent to you by e-mail. After completion of the order, the details of your order are no longer accessible via the Internet.
